« Resembling lilies, the flutes in the louis XXI collection are of the same velvety flesh colour of the ladies of the court. they are as fragile and precious as the ears of Madame De Pompadour.
Louis XXI was a sovereign who survived the french revolution thanks to a disguise. Today, he offers us from the past the erotic material of these human porcelains, at the crossroads of genetics and design.
These flutes, in the form of an erotic orifice, offer a new pleasure that only the Sèvres manufactory could realise. To our senses, porcelains have always remained a mystery. They prove that all of technology originates in poetry and literature, and that beauty of a new type can be born from the fire. » – Andrea Branzi
Magnetic rings by french designer Laurent Milon focused on creating shapes that would evade the limits of nowadays’ industrial processes. he produced the rings with freezed iron powder, made desirable thanks to molecules of other precious metals.
Rude design or a way to create differently with more than material: physical process.
« Each day, we are surrounded by seemingly insignificant objects, taking them from one place to the other, or leaving them on a table for weeks, without paying any attention to them. We ignore or forget them, using things only when we need to, making sure they don’t interfere or inhabit our space. But what if they were not so stable and subservient? What if they could swivel, bounce or even fly. And what if they did so all at the same time?
We want to imagine a place where objects could live and move, harmoniously, and of their own accord. Without interfering with each other these objects would bounce, roll, turn and cross each other’s paths. »
